Irene R. Weidman Charitable Trust
In 1938, Irene Weidman was elected as the first woman on Ephrata National Bank’s Board of Directors, where she served for 26 years until her death in 1964 at age 88. Mrs. Weidman designed the Royer building in downtown Ephrata in the 1930’s as a memorial to her father George S. Royer who founded Royer Pharmacy. She also helped found the Ephrata Visiting Nurses Association, and served as its president until the day of her death. Upon her passing a charitable trust was established to benefit local charities.
The Charitable Trust benefits Local Fire and Rescue Companies, Educational, Literary, Religious and Charitable (Social Services) Organizations. Per the terms of Mrs. Weidman’s Will, these charities must reside within a 15 mile radius of the intersection of Main and State Streets, Ephrata PA.
Before completing the grant application, be sure to have the following documents ready to upload:
- Grant application cover letter, including a description of the program/project you anticipate undertaking.
- A copy of your most recent financial statement (preferably audited), along with a copy of your current budget.
- A copy of your 501 (c) (3) letter from the Internal Revenue Service.
Applications are accepted between January 1 and October 1, annually. Decisions will be communicated in December.
