Foundation Grant Submission Forms

Before completing a grant application, be sure to have the following documents ready to upload:

  • Grant application cover letter, including a description of the program/project you anticipate undertaking.
  • A copy of your most recent financial statement (preferably audited), along with a copy of your current budget.
  • A copy of your 501 (c) (3) letter from the Internal Revenue Service.

Brossman Family Charitable Foundation

This Foundation originated from the Will of Bertha Brossman Blair, in honor of her father and mother, William and Jemima Brossman. William F. Brossman founded the Denver and Ephrata Telephone and Telegraph Company in 1911. Mrs. Blair’s employment with D & E Communications began in 1913 and spanned 72 years until her death in 1985. At the time of her death, she was the President and Chair of the Board. Mrs. Blair was very philanthropic during her life and was passionate about education, the arts, and social services. The Foundation accepts grant request from charities local to Northern Lancaster County.

Application deadlines are July 31 and December 31. Decisions will be communicated in the weeks following each of these deadlines.

Irene R. Weidman Charitable Trust

In 1938, Irene Weidman was elected as the first woman on Ephrata National Bank’s Board of Directors, where she served for 26 years until her death in 1964 at age 88. Mrs. Weidman designed the Royer building in downtown Ephrata in the 1930’s as a memorial to her father George S. Royer who founded Royer Pharmacy. She also helped found the Ephrata Visiting Nurses Association, and served as its president until the day of her death. Upon her passing a charitable trust was established to benefit local charities.

The Charitable Trust benefits Local Fire and Rescue Companies, Educational, Literary, Religious and Charitable (Social Services) Organizations. Per the terms of Mrs. Weidman’s Will, these charities must reside within a 15 mile radius of the intersection of Main and State Streets, Ephrata PA.

Applications are accepted between January 1 and October 1, annually. Decisions will be communicated in December.
